2023 marks the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, and many artists, brands, and businesses are celebrating the impact it’s made through the decades and across the globe. In this class, we explore the significance of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary—specifically as it pertains to Rizzoli’s new hip-hop titles—and also how the anniversary is being celebrated in unique and exciting ways across music, culture, and business. And we will focus on how Rizzoli can sustain the excitement of Hip-Hop 50 to continue to promote and sell their hip-hop titles beyond the anniversary and into 2024.
In addition, we identify ways Rizzoli can capitalize on real-time sales opportunities during the semester surrounding book release dates, author signings, Hip-Hop 50 events, and the holiday gifting season.
